Welcome to
Little Lamb Preschool
A Ministry of
Wye Bible Church
Practices and Policies
Dear Parents,
Our program strives to create a memorable experience through compassion, structure, and a lot of hands-on learning experiences. Our hope and prayer are that you will be proud of providing this early education to your child. The preschool environment is one of the first places your child will attend regularly aside from your home. LLP is a loving, safe, joy filled place to learn. Christ is the center here at LLP and the teachers love the students just like Jesus loves us. We teach and model kindness, compassion, love, and respect. Your child is valued and taught by experienced and wonderful teachers.
Sincerely,
Maureen Doyle, Director
Mission Statement
Our mission at Little Lamb Preschool is to provide Christian values, Biblical truths, structure, and play based learning for children ages 2-5. We help children flourish by providing an age-appropriate Christ-centered environment that meets the needs of children socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically as well as spiritually.
Family is highly regarded at LLP. We provide preschool family activities several times throughout the year, individual support, and mentoring.
Statement of Faith
For our Statement of Faith please see www.wyebiblechurch.com.
Little Lamb Preschool Staff
Our exceptional staff of caring educators goes above and beyond, ensuring a nurturing environment where each child feels safe and challenged to thrive and excel.
The teachers and staff possess warm and loving qualities as well as experience and training in the early childhood field. Some hold degrees in Early childhood Education, Elementary Education, and specialty degrees such as physical education.
We encourage staff to continue their education through in-house training, local and national conferences as well as online professional development. We require all our staff to be certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Epi Pen use. We provide specialized training based upon our student needs. These trainings may include childhood diabetes, autism, allergies, and behavior support to name a few.
We are sure you and your child will love our staff and the quality of care and education each one brings to our program.
Curriculum and Bible Education
Here at LLP our trained staff use the Lillio curriculum which matches up with MSDE standards. We also use a Christian based EE curriculum. Our curriculum was chosen after much research, and we found it has a well-rounded number of hands-on activities, structured teacher led lessons, as well as strong ethically sound Christian content.
Our Pastor also visits monthly to provide Bible based story activities that complement our curriculum. Pastor Jim uses Bible truths and dramatic play to teach the students the importance of reading the Bible and depending on God through prayer.
Student Discipline Policy
Children all begin school at various stages of development and with different strengths. The students are learning social skills and growing rapidly both physically and emotionally. All children learn from trial and error and from a good role model. Our discipline comes in many forms. Each situation and each child are managed individually. The discipline may be a conversation explaining the appropriate behavior or a quiet separation time where the student is given time to calm down and compose themselves. Each situation is managed promptly and fairly using the staff’s experience and training.

The program is a ministry of the church and is financially supported by the church. Tuition is solely used for the program costs that include curriculum, staff, and supplies.
Parking Lot Policy
Please take care when in the parking lot area. Always park your vehicle in a parking space and DO NOT park around the perimeter. Please hold your child’s hand as you walk them to and from the school. Please teach them to be aware of moving cars. Our kiddos are small and sometimes hard to see when they walk between or behind cars. Always use caution and drive slowly.
Preschool Class Directory
During conferences and on our web page, you will be able to fill out a class directory form. This information is used to share with class families. We encourage families to include friends in birthdays, playdates, etc. Your information will only be given to your child’s class.
Field Trips
Here at LLP, we believe that children should be given a lot of hands-on opportunities. Field trips and special programs can stimulate learning that may not take place in a traditional classroom. We provide several opportunities for students to attend local facilities. The trips are organized by Little Lamb staff, but parents are included and must provide transportation. We also plan large group activities at our school that include guest educators and community members to share experiences with students. Some of these helpers may be the Dentist, Postal Worker. Fire Dept, EMTs, and more.
Footwear
Students must wear closed-toed shoes at LLP. No flip flops, sandals or crocs are permitted for safety reasons.
Emergency Preparedness
We have a new Emergency Preparedness plan in place at LLP. The EP plan is uploaded to the website and updated each year. We want you to know your child will be safe in case of a lock down, shelter in place, or evacuation. We practice fire drills once a month and EP drills twice a year. We will evacuate to the church if needed and contact you through Brightwheel. Please always make sure your phone numbers and email are updated through my office.
Publicity, Social Media & Security
We love for the community to know what wonderful things we are doing here are LLP. We also know the importance of keeping our students safe. With this in mind, we always consider what we place on social media and in the newspapers. If you do not want your child’s picture in any of our advertising, we respect that and will do our best to follow your wishes. Please fill out our publicity form online. Keep in mind we never post personal information and names when we advertise. Please follow our Facebook page at Little Lamb Preschool at Wye Bible Church. Both LLP and the church have security systems with cameras, viewable by only a few people when necessary. All employees and volunteers who are part of any of our children’s ministries have completed background checks.
School Closings and Weather
LLP follows the QAC Public School calendar (on the website) except for staff development (TBA). When QACPS is closed for inclement weather, LLP will be closed. If QACPS closes early due to inclement weather, LLP will close as well. Families will need to pick their children up right away. I will notify you by Brightwheel and Facebook. When QACPS is delayed for fog, ice, or snow, LLP begins on time. Please be safe when traveling to school.
Holiday Celebration Policy
Jesus and teaching his word are our focus at LLP. During the Christmas season we celebrate the birth of Christ. During spring we celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus. During the fall season we celebrate the Thanksgiving harvest.
Snack
Please check our website, Brightwheel, and with your child’s teacher for snack options. We would like to provide our students with healthy snacks as well as 100% juice or water. Your child’s classroom may be nut-free. You may send nut butters for lunches. Make sure your child’s teacher is aware of any and all allergies your child may have.
